It's Been A Long Time..

So in my mind I blog constantly. I rant. I rave. I entertain. I sadden. But somehow it never gets onto this blog. Darn it. So one of my newfound, postbaby, I have no time for myself so I have to make it, goals- is to blog once a week. Minimum. Day of the week? To be determined. Probably Thursday. Yeah, Thursday. Sounds like a good day right? So for now, here is a quick update.

Cinco- We had a boy! After 20 grueling hours of labor (that Mauro IV, Teresa, and my parents all faithfully stood by my side for, bless them) we had a sweet little 6 lb boy that we named Mauro Rodriguez V- and will call him Cinco! He is an amazing baby, sleeps for hours at a time, nurses beautifully, poops great, smiles, gaining weight, coos, and is the chillest man around. Love him! He loves for you to bounce him on the ball. Oma discovered that parlor trick when she was here. And he loves baths, as long as you stay away from his neck cheese. All downhill from there. He has a birthmark on his left eye and over his nose. So cute. He's pretty short for his weight, opposite of his sister. Pretty much everything about him is different then Amali. He has dark hair, chubby cheeks, and a smile that lights up a room. And he holds his head up, since birth. Yep, strong and coordinated baby!

Amali- Has decided to be a nut of a child lately. Loud, obnoxious, and tests any and all limits. Working on teaching her while not breaking her spirit. So sweet and kind to Cinco. Wants to hold him all of the time, and sings sweet songs. Growing up before our eyes. I sent out her birthday party invites to her THIRD birthday. What!?!?!? How can she be turning 3???

Oma- Oma came to stay with us for a week- woohoo! Opa got to be here for the weekend before and after, also a big woohoo! We did lots of playing, puzzles, walking, cooking, and housework. Fun and wonderful in every way. Opa and Pape started a tree house for Amali- her birthday gift. She is so excited to paint it purple.

Schedule- Cinco is almost 4 weeks now! So it's time for us to start on our summer schedule. We took a break for a while, now we need that structure back. Especially Amali. Okay, especially me. It's not complete yet, and will need tweaking. And I need to make it pretty and print it for our school wall. But we have an outline and that is super helpful! So here it is for all of you curious georges out there-
M- vacuum floors
   garbages
   play at the park
T- dust
   clean porches
   storytime at the library
W- Austin for fun and errands
R- vacuum floors
   vacuum furniture
   swim or playdate
F- grocery shop
   laundry
   free play- Amali's choice
SS- family time!
Daily- read, create, school work, exercise

Goals- I have got to loose this extra weight. I am down 20 from delivery, have another 20 to get to prebaby, and then another 20 to be at my goal. I know everyone says nursing melts it off, but that's just not true for me. My body holds onto fat like its cake and ice cream. And nursing just makes me hungry. My body would eat all of the extra calories I am burning by nursing if I let it. So I have to make a conscious effort to loose. I have done it before, I know it can be done. Part of my problem is my LOVE of food. I love to bake, cook, prepare, serve... Food is beautiful! Especially fresh, healthy food. But I need to practice portion control. And snack less. I know my downfalls. Now to conquer them. Also going to start a couch to 5k program. I've been taking the bebes walking almost every day of the week. I love being healthy and fit, just need to get back to that happy place! Once I hit my first goal my reward will be a new pair of Birks! Second goal- haven't decided yet. Something amazing.

Garden- Needs weeding. Needs attention. Needs love. Has tomatoes, squash, and zucchini. Thanks for producing even when we are ignoring you. Although Mauro does get out there almost every day. It needs more. So much more. Hopefully next season I'll be better able to work in the garden.

Projects- Eugh. Entryway is ALMOST done. Just a few hours left of work and it would be DONE! But keeps getting put off. Hallway is halfway painted. Needs top half and trim paint. Bathroom- well it is still a hole in the floor. Bain of our existence? Yes. AND, Mauro and Opa are building Amali a treehouse! Super fun.

Okay that is us in a very simplified, short story. Life is good!
