m&m: Dashing Through The Snow... okay well maybe rain.

We have been so blessed to get lots of rain recently! Our yard looks alive again, mostly, and Amali has loved watching the rain! And splashing in the puddles.

Amali has been crazy about airplanes and airports since she was a small bebe. She shrieks when she sees one in the sky, and randomly asks a few times a week to go on an airplane, or to the airport. She tells me where each of them are going, and that she too wants to be on an airplane going to whatever destination fits her fancy at the moment. We've flown a handful of times with her, and she has been delighted each time. So it was a bad and sad idea to take Pape to the airport Sunday, watch him leave, and not let her get on an airplane too! She cried Cadillac tears the whole way home. Both for leaving Pape and not getting to get on an airplane. Teresa has said since she was just a few weeks old that Amali will be an astronaut, and I have a feeling she will indeed have a loving future in the friendly skies.

Yesterday Amali got to spend the day with Uncle Cody, Aunt Jenne, Gabriel, and Auntie Kayla. She was so happy! She loves them so much and we both needed the 'day off.' They went to the flea market, which I heard was an interesting experience. She ate popcorn and funnel cake, which she told me excitedly! And saw a monkey dressed as Santa! Then we all went to watch our friend Dawni sing Christmas carols at her church event. The kiddos had a great time, dancing, snuggling, and sitting on some cute chairs that were just their size! Then we went to PopPop, YaYa, and Auntie Kayla's for the rest of the late evening. It was an overall wonderful day! Amali promptly fell asleep once in the car and didn't even wake up when we got home and I changed her into pjs and a new diaper!

Speaking of diapers- potty training is going fantastically! As long as she is naked. lol. If we are home, she is naked and pees and poops in the potty. She isn't as aware when wearing a diaper or panties so this has been a very slow process. But we are so glad she's making progress! Being naked is such a treat for her (wonder where she gets that from....) so when I tell her she has to pee and poo in the potty if she wants to stay naked it works! And she knows it's only when we are home alone. If there is someone else here she has to keep her clothes on! That works usually. :)
