"I Write In My Journal Mommy"

Beautiful moments happen everyday.

Today, I pulled out my journal to jot a few notes. Amali asked "What you doin Mommy?" I responded that I had a few things I needed to write in my journal. She said "Okay Mommy, I write in my journal mommy. I write in my journal too."

I am blessed with a daughter who is learning so much and taking in everything we do. I hope today she has learned to write in her journal too, and even if she doesn't remember, I know that this is tucked back in her sweet little memory.

From an early September post-

What a week- it's been a wonderful week full of some fantastic news for our family, but full of devastation for our community. The fires raging in Bastrop, Austin, and the surrounding areas have ravaged so many homes, we continue to pray for those fleeing from their home, and those running in to save them. A natural disaster in its highest form. They say the Bastrop fire has engulfed over 20,000 acres, and over 300 homes. No lives lost, which is a true blessing. The fires are only 10 min from the land, so we are worried about the houses and wildlife there. We spend the weekend there, enjoying the fantastic weather. Strange how this windy cool air can be such a problem with wildfires. We have offered many prayers for rain and containment.

But on the bright side, the cool front has felt amazing. We had planned to spend all day working on the house, but instead have been outside all day! We walked in the park, played with Amali on the playground, played outside with the dogs, dug a big hole in our yard... Beautiful day!

Mauro got a raise this week too.. a HUGE blessing for our little family. We are blessed to have him as the provider, he's an amazing man in so many ways. We love our Pape!

We had fun this week with some friends too, a big playdate that was a total success! Amali loved having lots of friends to play with, the kiddos all had a blast, and us mommas got to talk and enjoy each others friendship too. Another beautiful day! I enjoy making memories in our house, and this one was very special.

We've also made some decisions on the house, and decided to set aside even more money each week for house projects. Right now the problem is TIME! Mauro works so many hours it is impossible for him to come home and keep working. But hopefully with a plan in place we can take it little by little and get everything done we want to in the coming months.

I am doing a "September Health Challenge" with my friend who is a trainer. There are 50 participants and I'm really excited to see results!  We have 10 goals a day to achieve, and for every one we check off there is a point. At the end of the month, the one with the most points wins! I'm doing pretty good, the no sugar and no flour is hard though! Lots of veggies and cheese is getting me through the day. They are all great goals, and I am loving the challenge!

Hope everyone is safe and surrounded by love. God Bless.
